After we lost Frazzle, we didn't think we would adopt another senior for awhile, but there were a number of seniors that we heard about who needed homes. Soon Deanna heard about Blitz, who was being fostered by WAG (We Adopt Greyhounds), a greyhound rescue group in Connecticut. After talking with his foster mom, Deanna felt that he would fit in with our pack, so we drove up to adopt him on Labor Day weekend.
Blitz is a quiet, laid-back boy, much like Tyler used to be. He enjoys it when people scratch his neck or behind his ears, and he'll lean affectionately against the person giving him attention. If you stop petting him when he still wants more, he'll gently paw at you with his front paws. He will also occasionally groan with contentment while he's lying on a dog bed, similar to how Carrie sometimes groans when she settles down.
Although he doesn't play with toys, he's shown us some glimpses of playfulness, which we suspect we'll see more often once he settles in.
