About Me

My name is Brian Swartzfager. I`m a web application developer in the Office of Information Technology at the University of Maryland in College Park, MD. My web applications are built using ColdFusion, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML. Since becoming a web application developer in the fall of 2003, I`ve rebuilt or redesigned about 6 web applications left by my predecessors and built 8 applications of my own.

My wife, Deanna, is a high school science teacher at Blake High School in Silver Spring, Maryland. We live in Bowie, Maryland, with our greyhounds.

My main purpose in keeping this blog is to share some of the tools and techniques I`ve developed as part of my work with other web application developers (especially ColdFusion developers), share any information resources I come across, and to express my thoughts about things that affect the developer community.

I will, however, write about non-technical stuff as well: technology is, after all, an enhancement of life, not a replacement for it.
